Great to see pictures of the “Bollywood Night at the Beach” Robinson Elementary Progressive Parent Party Fundraiser in Manhattan Beach last weekend. Many thanks to Tina Testa for the pictures and kind follow up email. It is always great to hear back from our valued clients and know that their event was a success!
Barenaked Ladies, k.d.Lang and Colin James joined Sarah McLachlan in an intimate evening of music, food and festivities held at Soaring House on the grounds of the University of Alberta. There were two frame tents, one for the stage and Raj Tents lounge, the other just behind it providing extra seating. Entrance Pergolas and an arch entrance into the University building gave a taste of things to come. Raj Tents’ co-founder Maurice Walsh went to Edmonton to personally supervise the installation.
Raj Tents installed tenting for Sarah’s ‘Summer Session’ concert in Ambleside Park, Vancouver in 2009 and ‘Voices in the Park’ in 2012, both times creating a relaxed and colorful luxury tent installation at her home as well. Our crew really enjoy working around her as they get to listen to her prepare and she is such a genuinely friendly and unassuming lady.
The Sarah McLachlan School of Music is founded on a belief in the enriching power of music and the importance of creative community. The School reaches hundreds of young people every year, providing them with a secure and inspiring environment in which they can learn, practice and connect with others.
Sarah is working on a highly anticipated new album due for release this year!
The 55th Grammy Award Ceremony at the Staples Center was followed by the Recording Academy’s official after-party at the Los Angeles Convention Center produced by Along Came Mary. Bollywood is one of our favorite themes, providing the chance to bring in a riot of color and the style and designs that Raj Tents is so well known for.
The main stage with Mughal Arches stacked 20 foot high with colorful drapes provided a backdrop to performances by the B-52s, Estelle, and DJ Michelle Pesce. Grand Ottoman Pavilion lounges on either side framed the stage and floating Pavilions over dining tables and raised performance stages, dripping with Indian glazed lamps, continued the theme. Raj Tents’ Pergolas housed the bars and low furniture vignettes filled the MasterCard VIP lounge. The center performance platform had strong horizontal lines accentuated by a large, ornate, scalloped valance.
Great to see pictures of the fabulous themed party, celebrating the end of the third annual Imagine eCommerce Conference, at the M Resort in Las Vegas. The event was organized by Tony Arzt of the Arzt Group, who wanted a combination of Bollywood, Moroccan, Persian and Arabian Nights features to create the Magical, Mystical Magento theme for his client.
The most unusual feature for Raj Tents, was transforming the M Resort’s poolside cabana structures with scalloped valances and drapes to make them really stand out. Several different types of tents were used, from the large Grand Pavilion, that served as a lounge to the smaller Pavilions and Pergola tents that are great as bars and food service stations as well as to frame smaller lounges. Along with Raj Tents’ low furniture and thematic lighting, the end effect was captivating, especially once the attendees mingled to celebrate the end of a highly successful conference.
