Sarah McLachlan Barefoot in the Backyard, Edmonton 2013
/It was an honor to be asked to provide luxurious themed tenting for The Sarah McLachlan School of Music in Edmonton, Canada on September 14th. Barenaked Ladies, k.d.Lang and Colin James joined Sarah McLachlan in an intimate evening of music, food and festivities held at Soaring House on the grounds of the University of Alberta. There were two frame tents, one for the stage and Raj Tents lounge, the other just behind it providing extra seating. Entrance Pergolas and an arch entrance into the University building gave a taste of things to come. Raj Tents' co-founder Maurice Walsh went to Edmonton to personally supervise the installation.
Raj Tents installed tenting for Sarah’s ‘Summer Session' concert in Ambleside Park, Vancouver in 2009 and ‘Voices in the Park’ in 2012, both times creating a relaxed and colorful luxury tent installation at her home as well. Our crew really enjoy working around her as they get to listen to her prepare and she is such a genuinely friendly and unassuming lady.
The Sarah McLachlan School of Music is founded on a belief in the enriching power of music and the importance of creative community. The School reaches hundreds of young people every year, providing them with a secure and inspiring environment in which they can learn, practice and connect with others.
Sarah is working on a highly anticipated new album due for release this year!
Many thanks to PRPConnect, who produced the event and the event designer Christopher with Christopher J Design.
